Some of the best ramen and katsu ever! Visited on a Saturday early evening before attending a concert with my husband and 2 teenagers. Great menu (enough choice without being overwhelming. We had pork miso ramen and katsu chicken, with some amazing chicken gyozas to start. Prices very reasonable, we all ate and drank for uround £20 each. Food was made quickly and was absolutely delicious, some of the best we've had 😋 What was also great, were the staff. Firstly we arrived a little early, just before they open but they let us come in anyway as cold outside! Our main server was incredibly friendly, and happy to make recommendations, plus chat Dragonball Z and Pokémon with my hubby and daughter (big fans) There's also some great posters and memorabilia on show. The counter overlooks the kitchen so could see our food being made, and everything was very clean and presentable, including the accessible, gender neutral toilets. Ideally located close to the Arena, and Black Sabbath Bridge. We will absolutely return!

Absolutely amazing experience at Ramen Don! The food was fresh, full of flavour, and made right in front of us — even on a quiet weekday. The barman was so kind and welcoming. They even prepared a special mini portion for our 8-year-old when the food turned out too spicy for her. Great food, lovely service — we’ll definitely be back!

Decent food, but in the no way worth the service. We were 6 people on a Saturday with a booking. This place is small, but even then we had to ask multiple times for basic dining items like side plates, water and our drinks. Even then they forgot people’s drinks, served my hot sake cold, and took way too long to even bring us menus. I can appreciate being understaffed but it just lacks awareness. If you can’t handle your restaurant 80% full maybe don’t bother at all. Our waiter couldn’t be more checked out if he tried. At one point we were the only people in the restaurant and a glass of water (we asked three times for) spilled and he took his sweet time giving us some kitchen roll and 2 people at our table cleaned it up. Getting up to physically ask for something happened multiple times. They fully aware of this too, waiter saying ‘I bet you guys will remember this meal’ ? Yeah not for any good reasons. I suppose we were full at the end of it, so we can say good portions. Was food okay? Sure. Would I be coming back here? Absolutely not. Not sure how this place has 4.7 stars.

Delicious ramen, only beat out by some I've had in NYC. Josh at the counter was super nice, he made the experience much more fun. Oh and the vibes were totally on point in the place. Would highly recommend! I'll definitely be visiting again :)

Been here twice, Josh was so accommodating, so chilled and spoke to me like we’ve known each other. As a south East Asian I’m naturally critical when it comes to Asian food, this is by far the best ramen I’ve had in Birmingham and I’ve lived here for 11 years now. Love it 💯

Today was my second time visiting Ramen Don and I was so happy I did! The first time I stumbled in to try their famous "fanta limon tasting sake" (as my friend described it) and we had a few sides. This visit I had the chicken paitan ramen which was absolutely phenomenal, and we had a try of all the starters/sides. The service was impeccable, as is the food and we will definitely back!! Special mention for the chicken gyzoa 😮‍💨 1000000/10

The ramen was nice but it’s hard to justify the price of £16+ for a bowl (with added 12.5% service charge!). The broth could be more flavourful and the noodles were okay; nothing special, I would say. At this price point and given the reviews I was a little disappointed.

We went here for my little sister’s birthday. The staff were so friendly and didn’t charge her for her meal which was so lovely, we were so grateful. The food itself is amazing. The Ramen is so flavourful and the meat is so tender you can tell it is quality produce. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family.
