After a harrowing 1st time experience of Indian restaurant food many years ago I have been very conservative with eating out in the cuisine. Preferring to cook my own from scratch. However during a 2 day stopover in the Langho area a friend suggested we eat at Shajan. I can honestly say it was the best restaurant food I have eaten in a long while. Attentive and polite staff along with an active front of house manager made for a great experience all round. Minimal wait time for a table without a reservation and prompt courses served professionally when you are ready. Such tender lamb in my biriyani that it melted in my mouth. A great bonus as I'm recently recovering from dental surgery. Delicious food and at a more reasonable price than expected. Busy for a Tuesday night too. Deserves more than 5*

Went here on Mothering Sunday with family. We had pre-booked a table, thankfully! The restaurant was full. I have never been to a restaurant so busy! Plenty of staff on duty. We were seated within 10 minutes of arrival. Orders swiftly taken and before we knew it, starters had arrived. All freshly cooked! These and main course were amazing. Very tasty and authentically made. There was no delay with our meals, despite the entire restaurant being fully booked and people waiting. This restaurant is very well organised, efficient and with friendly staff. There was nothing to fault and is possibly the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten in! For the quality, the prices are reasonable in my opinion. I will definitely be going again, although would like to try it when it is not so busy. I am already recommending this place to family and friends alike. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED....!

Shajan has been my favourite Indian restaurant for the past 10 years now. The standard and quality is consistently higher than anywhere else I’ve ever been to. The staff are always wonderfully warm and attentive and the atmosphere is fantastic , making for a great evening out for dinner. I’ve tried lots of different dishes but can say their Tandoori mixed grill (in the picture attached) is the best and the accompanying madras sauce was top notch. A must try for anyone who likes Indian cuisine

Disappointed. This was our first visit here with friends, who come regularly. They even asked at the end of the meal was it a new chef as they order the same dish every time and this time they were not the same. The service and atmosphere is very good, but the food left a lot to be desired. I had the mixed starter it came out cold the seek kebab was like rubber and the Samosa was just soaked in oil and grease. The main courses came my wife ordered the half tandoori chicken with a sauce (£18) it came out with 2 legs, the waiter asked how the food was. I explained we did not get half a chicken, but 2 legs he apologised and asked if I wanted a breast to take home. Our friends main dish was very watery and they gave them the same dish to take home. I then went to pay, I again explained that the main course was not way I ordered and showed him the picture. He basically said well you wife ate it. Not good attitude. So unfortunately will not be going again. We may have just been unlucky, but at £130 we will not be taking the chance again.

Onion bhaji and chicken pakado in starters are the best 5/5 Garlic nan 5/5 Papad is good and papad chutneys are just okaish Curry sauce is good Meat samosa taste sweet I actually confused Kebab is good myself thinking that did I order any sweet samosa 0/5 Now coming to my favourite part chicken biryani this is not bhiryani guys and this is not layer bhiryani either though taste is okaish and chicken in bhiryani is well marinated and well cooked Over all must try restaurant I’m gonna visit this place again to try more different dishes

Went for an 18th birthday meal so fairly special occasion. Granted it was a Friday night but the place was so busy it was like sitting in a nightclub!. Everyone was crammed in, couldn’t have a conversation and the the service was really poor (lots of wrong things from drinks to missing food) Basically it was overbooked. Management need to put customer experience over numbers. Sorry won’t be back

As many others say, the rushed service is shocking, they can’t wait to turn the table round. The food is ok, garlic chilli chicken tikka is good, though avoid the kebab starters, dry, bland and lacking any spice. If you must eat here, get a takeaway, their attitude & service is poor. Conversely, it’s great if you’re in a rush, you won’t be in there very long.
