Holy Smokes BBQ Shack

Bland. Very disappointing flavours. We were a party of 5, no one could taste any difference between the pork and the beef. Chip portions are big, each portion of chips is a large McDonald's portion x3. Not for me, but I can see the appeal.

We visited a friend in Portadown and since we are around the area, we thought of trying this BBQ place. Learned about them on TikTok. Food portions are gigantic. But meat lacks juiciness. The cornbread is dry and lacks taste. I hope they can do some improvement on the above. I can commend though on their dirty fries. Staffs are friendly and accommodating. Enough parking space. But I don’t think would go back just for the food. Meat and Mo’s brisket / back ribs at Springfield would be nicer in terms of meat.

Was expecting better to be honest after all the hype from social media. Corn bread lacked flavour and was sooo dry it was inedible, it felt like 2 week old cake. The short rib... no idea what happened to the short rib... bits of it were so hard and tough, I thought at one point it must have been deep fried, it wasnt tender and juicy as I expected. BBQ sauce on the rib was tasty but as a whole not worth it for 25 quid. The smash burger was actually delicious, very flavourful and the best bit of our dinner. There's a mountain of chips served with each meal. Staff were pleasant and venue was clean.

Honestly the best food in NI, the short rib worth every penny.. the Mac n cheese (mac n pepper sauce) was a show stopper, Tom owner/founder/dream maker ! Was checking on people personally and had time for a chat with all, a genuine worth the travel trip no matter where you are in Ireland

they have a very limited menu so i was expecting every item to be really good, however only the items with meat were really good. Would not recommend the cornbread or mac n cheese. i'm from the states and they were not bbq standard :( however the loaded fries and burger was amazing. i would rate their loaded fries a 5/5. they also had lots of beverage options which was cool. even though there is a long queue, the food was worth it. after they take your order it is fast to arrive.

Massive portions , not plated - on tray - (don’t think dining plate is made that large). Insulated “doggy bag” box provided for unfinished meal. 1 meal enough for 2 even on hungry appetite. Prices start around £15.99 rising to £22.99 as of 26th April 2025. Free parking available - no one goes home hungry - facilities basic - simple tables and chairs - loose stone floor- outdoor picnic tables available - Texan style bbq and smoked sauces - you won’t go home hungry - check opening hours first and expect to queue - you will enjoy 😀

Close friend recommended because they knew how much I love BBQ food. The place did not disappoint. The food was exceptional. It's a shack so don't be expecting tablecloths. Will I be back 100%

5 Stars – Absolutely Amazing BBQ Spot! 🔥🍔🍟 We had an incredible experience at this BBQ restaurant! I ordered the smash burger and the loaded fries with chicken, and both were absolutely awesome. The flavors were spot-on — juicy, smoky, cheesy, and full of that perfect BBQ taste. Honestly, just one meal could easily feed two people. The portions are generous, and the food is cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was friendly, and everything came out hot and fresh. If you’re looking for a place that serves delicious comfort food that hits the spot, this is it. Highly recommend it — we’ll definitely be back!
