Mulino handmade pasta

Lovely couple Chiara and Sasha of Mulino run a fab Italian pop up restaurant on Fridays and Saturdays at Barbarella and we’ve been meaning to go for ages. We booked the 6pm sitting and enjoyed a chilled out dinner in the café. There are only a few tables so it feels a little bit special. Mulino’s handmade pasta is so delicious! They have a great 2 or 3-course menu and the dishes are made with fresh, high quality ingredients. We enjoyed: Handmade focaccia, whipped garlic butter with sage; Caprese salad with heritage tomatoes, fresh basil and mozzarella; Mascarpone and parmesan ravioli with lemon zest and fresh thyme; Trottole (fusilli) all’arrabbiata and Pistachio tiramisù (one with coffee, one without). They don’t have an alcohol licence so the drinks menu features non-alcoholic options. I had a chinotto cocktail with fresh orange slices and my husband had an alcohol free beer. They have crodino and kombucha too!

I know Barbarella café from the day so nice to see it used after hours AND it's so local, one can brave the stormy conditions 🌪️ Leo asked Chef/Cofounder Sacha if I could have 2 of the same (mushroom/truffle) arancini and it was great, very tasty and the right portion size! I got the last portion of cod cartoccio - the fish was perfectly cooked with the cooking juices absorbed by the potatoes 🤤 A few herbs in the Mediterranean veg underneath would've finished them better....... Very happy they allow the team to make coffee after.......goes so well with the panettone 😁

Our evening at Mulinos pop up restaurant at barberella’s, Cambridge was fantastic. Chiara was a lovely host and let us sit outside on a warm September evening. The pasta was some of the best pasta I’ve ever tasted, and we will definitely be going back! Their non alcoholic drink selection as well was really tasty and varied. Thank you guys for a lovely evening.

We had dinner there on Friday night, and the food was great, the owners are lovely and it was just such a nice place to eat. Small and cozy, with delicious food! Would definitely here eat again!

We had a really lovely Friday evening here, the food was delicious and Chiara an excellent host. We asked if they do private dining at home - and guess what ... it was a Yes! Chiara and Sasha prepared a wonderful family Christmas lunch for 15 of us, some vegan, some vegetarian and some gluten free. Nothing was too much hassle and we ended up having one of the nicest Christmas family gatherings. Highly recommend and going back again next Friday :)

Delicious, authentic Italian food without a pizza in sight! Lovely hosts, attentive service and excellent value for money. BYO and pay corkage or they have a great selection of non-alcoholic drinks and home-made cocktails.
