A real pleasure to be back at 3 Acres after covid and the fire! The rooms have greatly improved, they now are beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The bathroom too was beautiful ...but terribly cold. Lunch and dinner were excellent, service as well.

First time visiting since the re-opening, and it did not disappoint! We were given a great table and immediately impressed by the fantastic staff — friendly, welcoming, and incredibly attentive throughout the evening. Despite it being a very busy Saturday night, the service was seamless. There were plenty of staff on hand, all knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, which really elevated the experience. The food was of high quality and absolutely delicious. This place is perfect for celebrating a special occasion. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, and everything from the service to the presentation felt polished and well thought-out. Highly recommend!

Lovely setting and a high standard of service -- attentive, accommodating. But the quality of food leaves a lot to be desired -- neither living up to the classy service nor the elevated prices. ||My wife and I visited after being gifted a £50 voucher as a birthday present. My wife had The Acres Homemade Pie with "proper chips". The chips appeared to be store-bought thin fries (probably from frozen), and the pie was no tastier than a Fray Bentos (the big difference being the price: £26 versus £3). ||I had the half chicken and added sides of garlic mushrooms and roasted honey-glazed carrots. My meal was very tasty; the chicken was cooked to perfection, and the gravy ("jus") added some wonderful flavour, which was complemented by the addition of the garlic mushrooms. However, unfortunately, the carrots were served almost raw. They would have been a terrific addition had they been cooked properly. ||The Three Acres positions itself as a high-end restaurant without the food to back it up. It's good pub grub with prices to match its style rather than its substance.

After being regular diners at the three acres before the fire we finally got round to visiting the refurbed restaurant. Hearing mixed reviews from family and friends we went with an open mind… and we are glad we did. The food, service and setting was just as good as ever, with new interior and oyster bar. We couldn’t fault anything, the restaurant was at full capacity yet we still found the service was on point, a credit to Terry and his team. We will be back again and hopefully the venison will still be on the specials menu!

The three acres is back with a bang! Best steak I have had in 20+ years of visiting. Hats off to Tom, Terry and the wider team for the thoughtful re-design of the venue - its first class but retains the cosy charm - clients love. It is really pleasing to see that service standards, staff, food quality and food waiting times are back to being five star after the inevitable re-open wobble for a very short period. We would not hesitate to recommend the three acres to anyone who appreciates good food and service. All the best. Dan & Team Towndoor

This venue offers not only excellent food but also an impressive selection of drinks. The staff are consistently friendly, attentive, and eager to help, creating a welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. While prices are on the higher side, the quality of both the service and the overall experience make it well worth the investment. A visit here is a must if you’re in the area. Notably, the Guinness served is among the finest I’ve had in the UK.

Amazing place but had it's easily fixed issues for me. Upon arrival, you can't help but be impressed. The pub is beautiful and the decor is amazing. Upon being guided to your room, the surrounding views are fantastic and the setting is stunning. However, I had a few issues which I didn't expect for such a pricey place. I paid £199 for one night. That's expensive anywhere, never mind a pub in Huddersfield. The room was beautiful and I was happy upon arrival. But the issues arose the longer I stayed. My TV didn't work, the cold tap in the bathroom didn't work, the WiFi didn't reach my room, I didn't have a mobile signal (not their fault), the room was stifling during the night to the point of it being unbearable and affecting sleep with no obvious way to alter the room temperature, the bathroom has absolutely nowhere to store toiletries. Such a shame and given I was there for one night on a business trip, it wasn't worth pointing out other than the tap, which I mentioned. In the morning, the breakfast is a little disappointing too. Their free offering of a 'full english' has no sausage as standard, you have to pay extra. £199 for a room and no sausage with breakfast. That would have been nearly £3 extra. Talk about mercenary. You get two small rashers of bacon, one egg, half a tomato, one hash brown and some beans. You also get toast and one cup of coffee, no refills were offered. Now the positives. The food from the main menu in the evening is incredible. It needs to be as this place isn't cheap but the quality is top notch. The atmosphere is everything you could hope for from such a place - relaxed, warm, welcoming, cosy. It's perfect. The service is absolutely top class and every person I was served by was friendly and ultra efficient, not just the meal, on checking in, during the meal, the bar staff, everyone was amazing. That's why it's a shame to make it down based on my experience but what else can I do given the issues I had? I had three hours sleep because of the heat and I just felt the practicalities of the room could have been so much better. The tap issue is something that happens. The TV too, clearly no signal, but even Netflix wouldn't work. Not the end of the world. The bathroom being completely impractical is daft. Put a shelf somewhere otherwise toiletries need to be kept on the floor. Is a WiFi extender needed? Probably. Give me a sausage at breakfast! All of them just add up to annoying silly niggles and given the price, that's not great. If they weren't there, it's a straight 10/10 all day long. I'd go back every week for food despite the prices. I'd happily stay again and know that they would fix the issues. But should they need to be mentioned in the first place given how this place is marketed? No.

Food was rubbish like a cheap gastro pub on a Sunday in down town middle England. The starter French soup delicious but the two mains we had a disaster. A small portion of fish and cheaper that look that you could do much better in Whitby for a tenner not the 30 quid of the set menu. The risotto bland and tasteless. The service was incredibly slow food took 25 minutes and wine didn't come until after. The coffee was cold and had to ask for a new one and it was my birthday and after the mess with the very slow service and cold coffee nothing to say even happy birthday or giving the coffee that they served cold as a complimentary thing. Then they charge 10 pounds on top of a whopping bill for the slowest service I have ever seen. The place was full of locals. The venue is beautiful and the staff are attentive but I would not spend 89 quid again in a very disappointing day. I had high expectations. If they don't improve the food quality I don't think they will make much profit but people go so no idea
