Chicken was fresh and cooked perfectly- crispy, moist, and glistening inside. Gator bites were great - good ratio of batter to fish. Mashed potatoes and gravy were good too! Not sure if the recent criticisms of this restaurant were warranted - because to me, the food was spot on!

I used to love this restaurant but recently received severely undercooked pink chicken in my order of bits. Not just parts of it either, the whole inside of the nugget was pink Will not be returning and am leaving this review to warn potential customers in the future and hopefully catch the attention of management. We are paying 11.44 after tax for an order of chicken nuggets and fries so where is the quality, what is happening

First time trying here and was impressed with the flavor and quality of the fried chicken and fish. Great taste! It’s mainly a to go place, which we took back home to eat. They pack it very well for to go, it was still piping hot when we were ready to eat. Recommended if you love fried chicken!

Ordered a Bits Box and it tasted alright, nothing crazy just pretty standard fried chicken. But the next morning/day man, that shit turned my stomach on its head. Not somewhere I would go back to. Service was fast, atmosphere was lack luster but then again it’s kinda in the name of “shack” but the food just did not sit right.

Ever since I moved to Evanston, I Loved the chicken shack, It’s local, about five minutes from my house and it’s pretty cheap. I usually get it once every few weeks but unfortunately, this will be the last time that I eat from there. I ordered my usual : rib tips, and as I was eating them, I noticed that there was a strand hair in my mouth. Thinking I was perhaps moving too fast and grabbed a strand of mine- I have straight hair- I didn’t think much of it and decided to be more careful. However that wasn’t the case. I moved around the rest of the food to inspect it and make sure I wasn’t crazy and in fact the were SEVERAL strands of hair wrapped around several rib tips. I am completely disgusted. I didn’t want new food, I didn’t even want a refund but i definitely called and told them that , that was completely unacceptable. I’m not sure wth they be doing behind that corner preparing food but I’m never eating from there again and if you continue to, CHECK YOUR FOOD!

I wish I could give them a negative 10 stars. This place is so unprofessional. I placed an order to chicken bits and was sent chicken liver dinner. Then when I called the lady proceeded to say with the nastiest attitude “you know what I’m not gonna go back and forth with you just send back the liver dinners and I’ll send the chicken bit dinners”. I’ve worked in the restaurant business for years and as a former supervisor for a local Evanston restaurant I’d NEVER spend my money here again and will tell everyone that will listen to never order from this place.
