Wasabi Sushi & Bento

Wow, just had the worst experience EVER in this store. Just got off a long flight and finally thought of getting some food when I got to Kingston. Not looking my best I get that. But who does when you have been travelling for 18 hours! The minute I walked in I said hello and the lady rushed from the other side of the counter and was literally on my back. I noticed this straight away. I left it and she continued to stand in from of the door as if I was going to run out with the food. When confronted, the lady said in broken english she was sorting the shelves out. LIES!! I asked her "do I look like I'm going to run out with this food. I even showed her my iPhone 16 and said do I look like i need to steal food. She shrugged her shoulders. To be made to feel like a thief! Shocking. I still purchased my food but now wish i spent my £15 elsewhere. Will never use Wasabi Sushi & Bento again! They have lost a good customer!

Outfit with a substantial London presence with signature minimalist ultra-streamlined interior, presentation clinical and keenly nuanced. Well-rehearsed and regimented format/packaging that’s fetishistic in its stylised uniformity. A credible selection, portions are not excessive and prices be reasonable. I’m niggling - the positives here far outweigh perceived aesthetic excesses. Cash not accepted.

Good value for money. I had a salmon donburi bowl (as per picture), a couple of times. Unfortunately they don’t serve sashimi, as it would be a good protein addition to the bowl. Good location, in Clarence St (very central and without motor vehicles).

I bought a Korean chicken noodle and Katsu Chicken noodle bowl from this store. The portion of the food is not worthy of their price tag, and the worst of all is the attitude of the staff. When I walked in, I greeted the staff nicely but I was ignored. Throughout my interaction with the staff, she has said nothing and only gave me the order. It made me wonder if she was properly trained and if she spoke any English. I’m only expecting decent human interaction (greetings and all) and if this was the sort of service that I could get from this store, the store could do much better without the staff and providing customers with self-collect and check out option.

Good place, have some nice sushi and bento, hot and cold food. It's always pretty fresh and a decent selection, which you can see before buying, unlike Itsu where they keep it all behind the counter now. Also half price at end of each day. Have some seats but I usually take out.

I am pregnant and sensitive to cold food and listeria bacteria, so I asked the cashier lady ( black girl , curly hair, skinny body 18:10pm 19/10/2022 ) today if she can heat up the cooked salmon sushi hand roll for me. She rejected,even I saw there is a microwave behind her . After that , I heard she laughed with her college, maybe she think is very funny. I felt like being discriminated because of my pregnancy . Because of her rejection , I need to choose the red bean pancake. But I really want to eat the cooked salmon hand roll. This shop is not a pregnancy friendly environment. You will not get what you want because of your pregnancy. I like sushi and seafood a lot , but I am afraid I need to change to other restaurants. I feel humiliated . And hope the girl could learn to respect other pregnant women. If you are pregnant and enter this shop , good luck with your purchase.

I needed to use the bathroom, the staff said it is broken. I am a paying customer and 8 months pregnant. Had to stroll around to ask to use other shops toilet as the staff in this restaurant was useless and unhelpful- they just kept saying- toilet is broken. I have asked how a restaurant doesn’t have a working bathroom- they did not respond and ignored me completely. SHOCKING SERVICE.

I ordered Jewelled Donburi, chocolate mochi at Kingston Upon Thames shop online and delivered at 12:10pm on 26th May 2025 by Just Eat. Owing to the unsealed packing, chocolate mochi was missing upon arrival. In addition, I found that some food of Jewelled Donburi was missing, too. It was very ridiculous. I suggest that Wasabi Sushi and Bento should seal the packing of food safely. It can protect food safely and in case of missing food.
