Really fresh sashimi, the selection was very tasty and the scallops melted like butter. The fried chicken was really juicy and crispy on the outside without too much batter.

Fresh, succulent sashimi at reasonable prices. Their yellowtail, salmon, and chutoro are to die for! The fried chicken was juicy and was dripping the moment you bit into it. Ambiance felt like a well-kept neighbourhood gem, with only 4-5 tables in the restaurant.

A gem serving up incredible sushi on archway road. The menu is broad and I can’t wait to try everything on offer. Lovely staff and an unpretentious atmosphere where you can relax.

I could not rate this place highly enough. I have introduced it to several people who all now travel from across London specifically for Kampai’s food. The quality is incredible and the service is always so kind. Some menu highlights are the Ebi tempura roll, Salmon Yum sashimi and the Miso Aubergine! If you love Japanese food this is the best in London, do not miss it! I would be here every day of the week if they were open:)

On our recent visit, we sampled the Chirashi Don, Nigiri Mix, and Sancho Oshizushi—each one a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to fresh, well-prepared seafood. The sashimi stood out for its freshness and clean flavor, especially in the Chirashi Don, which came beautifully arranged over seasoned rice. The Nigiri Mix offered a nice variety of textures and tastes, while the Sancho Oshizushi added a unique, slightly smoky twist to the meal. The environment is vibrant, with a relaxed energy that makes it perfect for a quick but quality dinner. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality of the ingredients and the attention to presentation. If you’re looking for a casual yet satisfying Japanese meal, Kampai is well worth a visit.

To confirm what everyone says, this is a neighbourhood gem! The food is exceptional. Outstanding sushi in vibey surroundings...the fatty tuna was heavenly. Attentive service.

The menu has a good selection of salads, dons, rolls, sashimi and little plates. I'd like to try their Gyudon next time. They have plenty if rolls and also cooked options for anyone who can't have raw food. Service is pretty responsive because it's a tiny place. Be sure to book! I've had better experiences with their rolls but today I tried their salmon Ikura Don and the salmon lacking in fat and tasted bland. Rice is well seasoned and generously portioned. Comes with miso soup. They also do a decent tempura. The fried chicken was on the dry side for chicken thigh. I think the food is good and appropriate for the price. I would gladly come back to try different things.
