Marugame Udon

Excellent bowl of hot udon. The limited edition Tom Yum broth was a true winner. Fragrant and tangy with just the right touch of heat, perfect pick-me-up in a chilly London morning. Didn't know the authentic Thai soup would match the thick bouncy udon so nicely. Service was equally impeccable. The staff was very friendly and enthusiastic in helping us find a table and choose from among their extensive menu. I'd definitely come back again when visiting London.

Tried this self service fast food style noodle house and realized that it's actually better because it's faster and you can instantly have your noodles with add ons and side dishes. I also love the area for condiments to further customize your orders. They also have separate door for take away and pick up.

Marugame Udon in London offers a standard, counter-service dining experience: order, pay, and seat yourself. I ordered the Large Pork Tonkatsu Udon. The broth was the main disappointment; it suffered from an overwhelming richness and oiliness that completely masked any nuanced flavor. It was heavy without being satisfying. The pork was chewy and lacked tenderness. While the udon noodles were decent, they weren't special enough to save the dish. The tempura was also unimpressive, offering a very one-dimensional and bland flavour profile. Overall, the food was a letdown, with the highlight of the meal being my Diet Coke. For those familiar with high-quality udon, this experience falls well below the standard you'd find at a typical, random udon shop in Japan. It's serviceable, but certainly not a destination for authentic flavour. The high praise this restaurant has received is confusing, and potential diners should know that this is not an authentic or high-quality udon experience.

Great restaurant to have your delicious Udon. The broth is good; however, it’s not as good as the Marugame in Honolulu, HI, and Vancouver, BC. This location offers rice dishes and other specialty items not seen on the above mentioned. We were still happy to find a Merugame Udon in London😁

Yummy!! The portions are quite generous and the ingredients are of amazing quality! Also, there are many options to choose from, as well as many ingredients to customise your udon with :) The staff was also really nice, so we will definitely come back

Love this place and the people. Delicious food and good portions. Great ambience and loads of vegan choices . I had the vegan mushroom udon and it is my new favourite! Tempura was delicious too. They have loads of seating and the toilets are clean.

I'm a fan of Marigame, due to the generous portions for the money, consistency and quick service. Yes you have to collect from the counter, bug you also get to see your order is assembled for you. Nice selection of free add-ons: chilli, spring onion & ginger etc. My go to place for a comfort meal on the go.

I came for a quick lunch and had the creamy vegan udon. It’s ready in about 10 seconds and I really appreciate all the vegan options on the menu throughout. Also love that you can add extras like fresh spring onion, ginger and chilli at the end at a toppings sort of buffet. Portion sizes are very generous too and seating is quiet and comfortable. Looking forward to my next visit!
