We came here for a quick meal before the Ricky Gervais show at the Palladium. We were short on time, but the service was very fast. The food was quite good, warm (which I really appreciate), and interesting. We had the Teriyaki Salmon. It’s like an upgraded fast food — clean, friendly, tasty, and quick. Just what we needed.

Super tasty, reasonably priced, good variety, and quick too! I really liked the self-serve tempura, although the takoyaki was a bit lacking. The tempura shrimp and gyoza made up for it though and my udon was perfect. The self serve condiments bar is a nice touch too, being able to adjust the flavour of your bowl to your liking. Being able to watch the udon made while you wait for your bowl is fun.

Another fine meal in a new location for me. Always busy but service is still swift and friendly. The large bowl can easily feed 2 and tap water is readily available if you are on a budget. One of the top reasonable places to each in central London, well worth a stop.

A very tasty and very reasonable meal bang in the centre of London. I had the pork noodles, the octopus ball, the soft shell crab, the pumpkin tempura plus an Asahi bottled beer and water and it was all delicious. The total was less than 30 pounds. The space is very clean and the service is smiley, fast and efficient.

I ordered the Chicken Paitan Udon, and it was disappointing. The soup wasn’t hot — just lukewarm — and the noodles were overcooked. The chicken was extremely dry; if it was supposed to be chicken thigh, it definitely didn’t taste like it, or it was simply cooked really badly. While preparing my dish, the staff accidentally dropped the whole poached egg into the broth and then used their bare hands to fish out the shell before handing the bowl to me — which was quite unhygienic and shocking to watch The tempura items were also completely cold, not worth adding on at all. The restaurant is covered with signs encouraging you to join the Marugame Club, but after signing up, I couldn’t log in either on the app or the website. The login page simply doesn’t work. It feels like a data-collection gimmick — don’t waste your time signing up.

Great food choice here with a range of sizes depending on how hungry you are. I had an excellent meal here and the customer service was second to none. Very professional staff here. And the restaurant was spotlessly clean. I will definitely be back. Why didn’t I find you sooner!!!

We tried this famous udon restaurant in Japan and were looking forward to trying it in the UK. Located right in Oxford Circus very near u station and Liberty. Fast food canteen style, the service was quick and friendly but there were dishes left on tables, broken seat base and food under the table. You order what style of noodles you want; soup, fried, toppings etc. pick your own tempura, drinks and pay. Add some free condiments and find a seat. Had the kake udon soup noodles with prawn, veg and karate tempura. Noodles were tasty and firm, soup nice umami flavor. Tempura little lacking in seasoning for my taste. Family meal for £35 was very reasonable for central London. Well worth a visit.
