Sanjugo Shoreditch

A week day first time visit to Sanjugo, we arrived slightly earlier and were were seated down. The Menus where presented and very much like coffee table books, clear and well presented. We decided and ordered our dishes and drinks. They came out quickly and the food was fine. The only comment was that my dish Chicken Katsu Curry with Rice wasnt hot as I had wished, but it was fine. Everything else was well presented and tasty and met our expectations. I would say the food was fine, but again, London has multiple eateries that offer very much the same dishes at a similar price point. If you are in the area, them drop on in and give it a try. It is close to City of London and does a lot of the City folks as well as well as the Shoreditch Tech crowd. Enjoy, a nice eating experience.

From start to finish this was an outstanding meal. The wagyu was incredibly tender and flavorful, melt in your mouth, while the Hiramasa salad was fresh and vibrant. We sampled many items from the tasting menu and every course was beautifully presented and utterly delicious. Highly recommended.

We availed of their Bottomless Brunch deal and it was simply marvellous! Food is of the utmost highest quality and not entirely what you’d expect when people say buffet. Their sashimi were very fresh and all their portions were huge! All of their staff were also very warm and attentive with one in particular - this lady named Nicole - who basically anticipated and intuited our every need. Overall, wonderful experience!!!

I don’t know what the good reviews are about. I’m assuming these people haven’t had proper Japanese food before so may not be aware. But the quality was dire. We got the sashimi set, nigiri sushi set and unagi don each. The salmon was ok in the sashimi set but the other 2 were not good. Texture was rough and not smooth like a sashimi should have been. The quality was just not there. Nigiri was also quite unpalatable. I think this is because it wasn’t as fresh as it could have been. The only good thing was unagi don, of course not the best I’ve had but for the price it was ok. Also the staff don’t really say ‘irrasshaimase’ which kind of throws you off. It’s such a small word but it sets the tone in a true Japanese restaurant. It’s more than a greeting it’s part of the whole experience which I did not receive here.

My partner and I visited your restaurant on the Bank Holiday early evening without a reservation. Although it was moderately busy, your staff kindly seated us at the counter bar. We enjoyed the lovely, cosy atmosphere and found the staff to be friendly and attentive. Drinks were served promptly, while the food took a little longer, likely due to the busy period. Desserts arrived quickly, and overall, we were very pleased with our experience. We will definitely be returning.

It was a good experience dining at Sanjugo. Customer service was great. Staff were attentive and they kept refilling our tea cups without us needing to ask. A special mention to the slim Chinese lady who brought us to our table and the young Japanese Guy from Mie! They even Brought out a complimentary dessert knowing it was my birthday. It was much appreciated 🍰😊. Food was needlessly to say very good also. Flavourful, presented well and value for money. We will be back!!

Lovely experience!! The service was easily one of the best I’ve had in London - the staff were friendly and attentive, very welcoming! The store also does capture the essence of a Japanese restaurant. Food was delicious with a great variety to choose from, there’s definitely care and thoughts put into it. Tempura and nigiri were delicate, and the Sanjugo Roll and Hiramasa Salad really surprised us, they’re both satisfying to have! Recommended 100%. Also, do go for a pint of Sapporo beer🍻

Delicious food, super fresh and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, particularly Nico, Khush and Kazuki, as well as the cosy atmosphere made it a perfect spot for a great meal. Highly recommend!
