You wouldn’t believe from outside that this simple restaurant offers one of the most authentic Japanese food experience in London. The fish is amazingly fresh, and there’s a high variety of options as well. In addition to typical Japanese dishes, there’s also some ‘a la carte’ addition that represents typical side dish that you can find there (the boiled yellowtail with daikon is super tasty) It might not be the coziest place but you won’t be disappointed by your plate!

It’s as authentic as it gets for Japanese food in London. It’s not only the fresh fish, but equally important, freshly prepared good quality rice, that makes for superior taste. Often times it’s the rice that sets apart the average sushi (like Taro) from the good, like Sushi Show. The lighting and interior could really do with a makeover, it comes across as cheap, too bright, not intimate. It doesn’t do justice to the great food. But it’s the food we came for. And it’s the food we come back for.

Sushi Show in Shoreditch was decent overall—prices were reasonable, though the rice on the nigiri felt a touch light, and it took 40 minutes to an hour for the food to arrive without any heads-up. That said, the fish was nicely fresh, and the wasabi was the real thing. Service was a bit spotty; no one walked me through the menu, which left me a little puzzled at first. I’d heard positive buzz. The staff are authentically Japanese, which brought a genuine vibe to the place. It wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t bad either.

A no-fuss sushi spot in Shoreditch that honestly surprised me - reasonably priced and some of the best quality sushi I’ve had this side of London. It’s the closest thing I’ve found to my Japan trip, so I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Maybe we got lucky with off peak hours, but the fish was fresh and the service was great. Pictures speak for themselves. Here’s what we loved: ⭐️ Salmon Sashimi - thick, soft, and super fresh ⭐️ Tuna Sashimi - surprisingly good quality, which is rare in London ⭐️ Eel Nigiri - a bit pricier, but always worth it for me ⭐️ Scallop Nigiri - sweet, soft, and melt in my mouth good ⭐️ Otoro Nigiri - the one that brought me back to Japan. Hard to find this good at this price point It’s not a spot for fancy dinners or high end vibes, but if you’re after solid sushi at a decent price with zero frills, this is it.

I have been here for the past 6 years and I come here every few months for a treat. It used be very friendly, good quality and decent sized sushi that takes you back to Japan. However, since last year the Cashier Lady seemed to have an absolute attitude and very unwelcoming… Rolling back her eyes, sighing, looking very offended when you asking a question, makes you feel like you’d rather not dine there with her terrible attitude. All other staff are always very polite, except her. The portion size has become tiny, the sushi rice is size of half of my thumb when it used to be a full thumb size. Fish quality seemed to be ok still and I do enjoy the special menus. I was a die hard fan of this place, a real foodie and I always recommend/ bring my friends to try. But lately, I was reluctant to do and it’s a real shame! I had to write a review as the cashier’s attitude really needs to be addressed since she will eventually be the main reason for me to stop visiting again.

I recently dined at this Japanese restaurant, and while the food quality wasn’t particularly impressive. Given the price, I expected something better in terms of freshness and presentation. The most disappointing aspect, however, was the service. The staff were not only unfriendly but also quite rude, making the dining experience uncomfortable. Even though the food was passable, the poor service left a lasting negative impression. Overall, considering the many great Japanese dining choices in London, I believe there are much better alternatives in terms of both food and service. Unless they improve their hospitality and value for money, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Sushi Show in London has two locations, and this time, I visited the Brick Lane branch. The front of the shop features a retail section and an open kitchen, while the back serves as the dining area. However, seating is limited, so you might have to wait for a table if it’s crowded. The food tastes good, but the portions are relatively small, and coupled with the quality issues, the prices seem rather high. Although the staff are Japanese, they lacked the expected level of politeness and etiquette, which was somewhat surprising.
