Tokyo izakaya London

I went to Tokyo Izakaya with friends yesterday, it's a newly opened Japanese restaurant in East London. Not only were the dishes beautifully presented and made with high-quality ingredients, but the flavours were also delightful. They’ve incorporated some interesting cooking techniques as well. 🍳 Wagyu Fried Rice with Onsen Egg Highly recommended! This was the highlight of the meal. Generous chunks of Wagyu beef, perfectly stir-fried rice with distinct grains, a pudding-like soft onsen egg, and sautéed onions cooked to a tender perfection. The dish was served in a sizzling hot stone bowl, making the rice at the bottom crispy and aromatic. 🔥 Seared Sushi Tokyo Izakaya offers a variety of seared sushi, which is perfect for those who aren’t keen on raw sashimi. They come with different pairings, such as Wagyu beef with crispy garlic chips or chutoro (medium-fatty tuna) with black truffle. Every option was a delight. 🐟 Grilled Miso Black Cod The black cod was marinated with Saikyo miso, sake, sugar, and mirin, resulting in an exceptionally tender and juicy texture. The slightly sweet seasoning enhanced the fresh flavour of the fish. 🍋 Cured Sea Bass Sashimi This was prepared in the style of Peruvian ceviche, infused with a refreshing lemon aroma. The tangy taste was appetising and light. 🍄 Black Truffle Beef A strong truffle aroma accompanied the dish as it was served. The beef was tender and smooth, and the remaining sauce was perfect for mixing with rice—absolutely delicious.

Delicious new East London store!! They say it's from the Birmingham fire to the super hot sunnier shop in London, right next to the Yanji Skein. New store opened, this time there are opening discounts oh ~

Food is amazing, you can tell everything is cooked fresh and the menu has great selection. The staff are lovely as well. A new spot to Bethnal Green and a hidden gem!

Great Sushi and sashimi. I love the noodles and cocktails. The scallops are super delicious.

The lunch deal menu is fantastic value, and the food was both delicious and authentically Japanese. The owner was incredibly friendly, which made the experience even more welcoming. They have one of the most extensive selections of Japanese dishes I’ve seen in London! The location is super convenient, only a short walk from Brick Lane and Shoreditch High Street. I’m already looking forward to coming back to try more dishes. Highly recommend this hidden gem!

Tokyo Izakaya is my favourite Japanese restaurant in my hometown Birmingham. So, when I heard it has opened a branch in London near to where I live, I was super excited. You will not be disappointed. Great food for reasonable prices, friendly staff, and a diverse menu where everything is authentic. So happy to have you in London!

Great place by any standard!! Truly authentic izakaya food preparation like in Japan. Seared nigiri, yakitori and more. Excellent sake list. Fair prices all around. Friendly and welcoming service by the wait staff. She was very personable and communicative! I highly recommend this restaurant for sushi and all types of izakaya style eats.
