The construction ruins the perimeter trail, the park didn't fix the markings where the construction is and will get you lost, big warning. Where the construction is don't go across even though you see horse tracks go up ward, if you started off going clockwise. If no construction the trail is great and views are fantastic.

Super Father's Day hike. A bit of poison ivy but avoidable if you pay attention.

This state park contains a well-marked dirt trail for hiking, horseback riding, or mountain biking. The Outer Perimeter Trail is approximately 9 miles of a loop in the wooded forest, with a couple of good hills but mostly bumpy ups and downs. It is not at all rocky. A few places can get muddy, but it does dry out quickly. Parking is not free, it is $4 for out-of-staters and $3 for local residents per visit. There is a public restroom, and also some smaller hikes for bird watching and farming education. It is a quiet park, there aren't too many people visiting, so you may even have the trail to yourself on a weekday. I really like this park for trail running, I come here quite a bit.

Very nice trails but it could use a few more signs. I did not realize you need to cross the unused parking lot to stay on the perimeter trail. Restrooms were very well maintained. Shared trail with cyclists and horses.
