金兰亭牛肉拉面 / KUNG FU Noodle

Noodles in oil and cucumber salad were amazing - highly recommend. We also ordered pork dumplings and potato salad which aren’t pictured, but so delicious! The best chinese restaurant I’ve visited in york.

You have to come here if you’re in York! This was the best meal I’ve had in the city. First of all, the staff are very kind and considerate - my mum has a cinnamon allergy and they were careful to find the dishes on the menu without it (she loved hers!) I had the oil-drizzled wide noodles with braised beef, which were absolutely incredible! It has a lovely atmosphere and the meals are excellent value for both the quality and portion size. Will definitely be coming back! :)

The authentic beef noodles are simply delicious, especially the wide noodles with braised beef ribs and chili oil.

Visited earlier today and we loved it. The calamari and tori kara were amazing to start with - fresh and quick to come out. The beef bibimbap and sizzling beef with teriyaki were delicious and we highly recommend trying them. We will definitely be returning!

Absolutely brilliant, authentic tasting food. Everything was presented nicely. Unagi don was delicious and sweet, and a deceivingly big portion. It came with miso soup, which was a nice touch. Gyoza was delicious. Grilled octopus was nicely cooked and presented. The service was nice - kind of hard to flag the waitress down for anything (bill/drinks) but she was lovely and came over immediately when she saw we needed her, we didn’t have to wait.

Went here for York restaurant week, the restaurant itself is small, and quite spacious with few tables. The servers are lovely, attentive and friendly which was nice. Ordered three starters and two mains for £35 as part of the York restaurant week “deal”. The starters were the main cause of concern. Going by recent photos online, these have largely decreased in size. With the gyoza starter only containing three miniature gyozas (as oppose to 5 in recent reviews), and the fried chicken boasting two portions where it appears to usually contain three. If this is purely a restaurant week thing, I understand. However, this should be clearly stated, as reducing the prices of your food only constitutes a deal if it does not coincide with a reduction in portion size. The food itself was delicious, however was not a huge fan of the friend chicken but this was personal preference and a reduction in portion size was actually welcomed ;) Overall good food, good service, but feels cheeky to promote this as a deal, reducing our enjoyment of the experience. Would be a 3.5 if possible.

One of the best places in York for food lovers. I highly recommend the place. The atmosphere is amazing. The staff is so friendly and accommodating and the food is top quality. I suggest trying the Sukiyaki Pot Beef. It's full of flavour and big enough to share. Been here twice and I will be back again

Four of us visited on the spur of the moment in the evening, as my son enjoys Japanese cuisine. We were visiting from Wales for a University open day and had travelled most of that Monday. We were welcomed immediately on arrival and felt comfortable there throughout the dining experience. The service was friendly and excellent. The food was amazing and so delicious I'm still thinking about it 2 days later on my return home. Thank you to all at Oishii Isakaya for such a wonderful meal and your patience with any questions we had. I would highly recommend a visit here for anyone visiting York.
